A small cornrow braid is woven to the side of the head as a sort of French braid. It can take hours to cover a whole head of these braids, but the result is a clean and shiny. The first people to braid hair so lived in Africa, where the different regions had different customs associated with the braids. For example, only women traditionally wore their hair in braids, in Nigeria, while warriors
